This policy explains what personal information Daily Discountz collects when you browse, bid, or buy, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can control it.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- You give it to us. Name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, phone number, and any message you send our support team.
- It is generated by your use of the site. Orders placed, bids submitted, items watched, pages viewed, and searches run.
- It is collected automatically. IP address, browser and device type, approximate location derived from IP, and cookie identifiers.
We do not store full payment card numbers. Card data is handled directly by our payment processor.
2. How we use it
- Processing orders, payments, shipping and returns
- Running auctions, including validating bids and notifying winners
- Sending transactional email such as order confirmations and outbid alerts
- Sending marketing email, only where you have opted in
- Detecting fraud, bid manipulation, and abuse
- Understanding which products and pages perform, so we buy better inventory
3. Cookies and tracking
We use two categories of cookie:
- Essential. Required for the site to function — keeping you signed in, remembering your cart, and securing forms. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics. Used to measure traffic and understand behaviour in aggregate. These load only after you accept them in our cookie banner.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which will make the banner appear again.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to do their job for us, under contract:
- Payment processing
- Shipping carriers and fulfilment
- Email delivery
- Hosting, database and analytics infrastructure
- Fraud prevention
We may also disclose information where legally required, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
5. What other bidders can see
When you bid in an auction, other users can see your bidder handle, your bid amount, and the time of the bid. Your real name, email address, and shipping address are never shown publicly.
6. Data retention
Order and transaction records are kept as long as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and Texas have specific statutory rights under their state privacy laws.
To make a request, email us and we will verify your identity before acting. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Security
We use TLS encryption in transit, restrict internal access to personal data, and store credentials using industry-standard hashing. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Account holders must be 18 or older to bid or purchase.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced by email to registered users.
